The University of Nebraska at Omaha College of Information Science and Technology’s Summer High School Internship Program pairs faculty members with high school students for an 8 week summer internship. The internship provides students with hands-on experience in UNO labs in areas such as robotics, bioinformatics, software engineering, cybersecurity, public health informatics, database-driven web development, IT innovation, open community participation research lab, music informatics, iOS/Android app development, gaming lab, and others.
The goal was to identify the prevalence of ingredients in foods distributed in the US using consumer health informatics and create an index/dictionary to categorize ingredients for consumers.
SIGCSE Website Project – Computer Science
The goal was to update the SIGCSE website and document the conferences. The students learned how to use specific programming languages and software in order to update the website.
